I was waiting for the iPhone6 to come out to start a new Project and of cause there are two of them.
What size will you design for. I am not sure what to do.
Is Legacy an option?
Thanks

iPad all the way. It's so much easier to convert and make universal. Build once, deploy to all devices.

If you design for iPad, you can easily optimize for smaller screens.

Ipad and work down. Some apps do just require a separate iphone build to look right but if you decide what method you will use stretch, crop et.. When designing the game it's easier to do a good looking universal app.

Can I ask a stupid question, if you use iPad screen size does the camera size matter?
@ShoutingAtHorses
First off there are no such things as stupid questions haha. I don't really understand your question. Do you mean device screen sizes?
@ShoutingAtHorses
No, But if you use overscan parts of your scene will move outside the cameras view, if you use stretch everything will fit but be distorted.
I posted a solution for this here.

I have to say BBenk. That was a good video. Now I admit watching it without any audio has caused me have alot of questions about what I was seeing. If you Sir have skype. I would gladly pay you to go over that video with me and explain somethings in detail. And answer some questions that will help me understand your way of universal a lil better. I will gladly pay you for your time. That is if you have a working mic. Need me to mail you one?
yup always use ipad:)
Thanks everybody and I was thinking the same thing. iPad.
Don't know if this helps but my iPad sales from previous Apps
also outsell my iPhone Apps by far. Why I don't know. And the iPad Apps
like Castles of Europe are just simple Apps not even Games.
iPad it is. Thanks again.
iPad !
It's not often there is a unanimous answer to a question posted on these forums! Looks like iPad is a clear winner.

And here is how to optimize (similar to BBEnk's solution, though I think a bit simpler):

@FINNBOGG
I made these templates earlier this week, it shows the overscan areas for the family of iPhone and Kindle devices:

So it's better to make a game the size of an iPad? cause that mean's ive been doing it all wrong
What if I don't own an ipad?
I made all my game for iphone landscape 5! Is this good?
@Andrea_Comisi, @http_gamesalad
It is possible to start with any project size, iPad just gives you the most flexibility, because it means you will definitely have a more universal resolution.
You don't need to have an iPad necessarily. The logic should work universally.
I got a question can i put an app in letterbox only for ipad? And can i put an app only availble for iphone 5 and greater?
@Andrea_Comisi -- Put it where? Yes, you can make iPhone-only or iPad-only games. Limiting to just 5 and up is not possible. You can warn users in the description that it works on iPhone 5 and up, but it won't bar them from downloading it if they have a high enough OS.
But it is possible to design games in such a way that they will work on both in an optimal way, which is great, and your customers will appreciate it.
Check @jonmulcahy's link if you want to do that with overscan, and mine or @BBEnk's link if you want to do it without overscan (full access to all corners of your scene). I made a video that explains the possibilities of the method.
