What type of OS X

Do you need a specific type of OS X to publish apps for iPod / iPhone? Or do you need a specific year of Mac? Thanks

You need at least OSX Lion and as long as your Mac supports that OS you are fine!

    Hope this Helps!

Pretty much any semi-current year of OS X should work fine. What OS X are you currently running?

I think the minimum right now is mountain lion but Yosemite is coming and that may change soon. Most macs that can run mountain lion can run Mavericks so you should be good hardware wise. A Mac mini is great for most stuff including GS.

So should I find a Mac that has or is able to run maverick so when Yosemite comes I don't need to find a new one?

@Tr_2000‌ There is an article on MacWorld that lists all Macs that will run Mavericks. Just do a search on www.macworld.com
One of mine is a 2010 iMac and it works fine. Even a Mac Mini or a MacBook from 2009 or newer should be fine.
