How much memory usage is too much?

I'm working on a game and the memory is peaking at around 25MB. Is this ok or should I be trying to reduce it? I'm just not sure how much is too much, and I've already optimised image sizes etc.

    RAM of 25 should be fine. File size over 20mb must have wifi to DL. But it sounds like you are talking about RAM so you're good to go.

    Yeah I meant RAM. File size is only 1.5 so that's fine. Thanks a lot!

    Some have reported crashing around 40mb on 3G. I only saw crashing when my game reached around 55mb of RAM. I would TRY to keep it under 40 if possible, but basically as long as you can play for long stretches at a time without it crashing then you will be ok.

    Hi guys, if it's OK to poke my nose in here:

    Is there a direct relationship with game file size and the amount of RAM needed to load + run it on an iPhone/iPad? If so, what would that be, can anyone say please?

    @gyroscope: The file size does not relate to the RAM usage. An original iPhone will start to crash at about 40MBs of RAM usage.

    Changing Scenes seems to clear out the RAM for me. The images and audio that I loaded into the Scene get flushed when I go to a new Scene.

    You always need to be conscious of you RAM usage, but it does not have to do with file size. For example, MYST is 700MB, but the RAM usage does not cause the iPhone to crash.
