Respawn Player

I am looking into how to respawn a player. I have a lives counter at the top. I have it showing 3 lives. When the player is destroyed it goes down to 2. But I cannot figure out how to respawn my player for it's next life. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Don't destroy the hero, just move him off-screen and after 1 or 2 seconds, bring him back in the gameplay until he runs out of lives and then, it's game over.
