If your publishing to Amazon with leaderboards, signed APK is required?

Since you can submit unsigned APKs, then if you want a game with gamecircle leaderboards, it can only be done with a signed APK, yes? Or do you submit an unsigned APK and still generate and MD5 key anyway? I'll use the method in a tutorial, but out of curiosity, has anybody tried it the another way? :o

    I use Unsigned and I have leaderboards and achievements.

    Oh! So it would be for other platforms you need unsigned. Thanks for the insight. @BBEnk
