Making Money with Game Salad

I wanted to start making games with game salad to potentially make some money. I was wondering if Game Salad takes a cut from the revenue you bring in with your game. Game Salad is a free software so I don't see any other way how Game Salad is making money, so they must take a cut from the creators.

    If you use the Free version, Gamesalad places ads in your games and they get whatever the ads generate.

    If you don't want their ads in your games you can upgrade to the pro version.

    Thanks jamie, how much does it cost to upgrade to the pro version? and if you have the pro version, can you run your own ads?

    It's $299 per year for pro. Currently for every app you publish to Amazon you get one month of pro free. You are able to integrate chartboost, revmob, iad and playhaven ads into your games. You can run your own ads through a click to url type ad.

    From http://www.gamesalad.com, click on Go Pro For Less towards the bottom of the page and you'll see pricing info and a comparison to the free version.

    Are they still giving free pro membership away with Amazon. I thought this expired months ago??? (I could be wrong, just checking) :smile:

    Im kind if confused in what you're saying here. So if I make an app on game salad free and publish it to amazon, I'll get a free month of game salad pro?

    Yes if the promotion is availble but i don't know how to ceck it

    Alright. Do you know if there's any requirments? What If I just throw a game together in 5 minutes and submit it just to get a free 1 month of pro

    the amazon promotion ended awhile back. currently the only amazon promotion is you can publish to the kindle store for free, instead of just iOS.

    I have gone investigating and found under "Services" then "Amazon" in the publishing portal for where I have published previous games, it says the following "Earn one free month of Pro Membership for each game that gets published to the Amazon Appstore!".

    So is this Incentive Program still running or has GameSalad just not updated the website in a while?
