Did an experiment after getting 0 sales for a few days (think this was because of the lite versions so i removed both Junlge bug and dropzone lites from app store) and today we got 7 sales so 1st thoughts are.....not sure i will make any more lites.

Your thoughts guys?

Darren.

Lites are hard, i've seen lots of stories of it working and boosting sales and lots where it doesnt boost sales! Lites are always gonna get tons of 1 stars by the freetards, good thing is though with 4.0 software coming out they are removing the rate on delete feature, this should stop soo many of the 1 stars as they wont be bothered to go give you a proper review. If we get iAd support then i think lite, or even just a free game maybe worth it as hopefully the advertising will generate the money! Its a tricky one!

Hi Darren, some of my thoughts:

Difficult to say, in my opinion. If you had waited even another day with the lite version, you might have shifted 7 of those!

With respect, basing any sales marketing aspects on just a few days doesn't mean anything; a couple of months, maybe.

A final thought: could it be that lite versions are perceived as no such good value for money for consumers (if paid-for rather than freebies)? If you've used the word Lite in your game titles, psychologically-speaking, do consumers think there must be a full (and, in their minds, better) version out there? Um....don't know. ;-)

    ;-)

PS Congrats selling some of your games; here's hoping you have continuing success.
