Wii U Owners?
Recently picked up a Wii U with some games after sitting on the fence for far too long and we're loving it!
Some of the games are not my cup of tea but some are simply awesome.
Below are a few games i have bought and played and my thoughts.
Super Mario 3D World is simply amazing and the 2 of us played co op non stop for a couple of hours every night until we completed it…wondering if its worth going for all the green stars and stickers? does anything "special" happen if you do?
Mario Kart great game sometimes a little frustrating but overall brilliant…you know when your in 2nd closing down the leader and you get hit by a red shell followed by a green followed by you falling off the track putting you in last place but loving it and we've been playing most nights. Not sure why you can't play 2 players with one using the pad and one using a pro controller so you can have a screen to yourself but its still fun and quick enough to take turns playing if you don't want split screen.
Wonderful 101 didn't know much about this but after reading a review decided to pick it up and played about 3 hours so far definately a keeper and initial impressions are its great.
Pikmin 3 discarded #2 on Gamecube as it wasn't for me back then (i don't think i gave it a chance tbh) but grabbed the Wii U version after hearing how good its supposed to be and this one surprised us because we've been really enjoying it thus far…about 3 hours in.
Splinter Cell Blacklist…not played it yet but i hear its good?
Bayonetta 1 & 2 Played the demo for 2 and its crazy mad! so grabbed a bargain on eBay for the boxed set (should turn up today) although i hear #1 isn't so hot.
Lego City Undercover, got a used copy coming so not played it yet but hear its a good game?
Below are games i got but plan on selling on because we either couldn't get into them or didn't really like so much.
Monster Hunter 3 is a game i really wanted and tried to like but i guess its just not for me.
Donkey Kong reviews were all good but we just couldn't get excited about the 2d platformer, i think because we both got spoiled by Mario World and the excellent co op.
Mario Bros U + Luigi U another great game according to reviews but again we couldn't get into it (we love rayman legends btw so its not the fact its a side scrolling platformer). Just felt old and that feeling we've played it all before.
Zombie U we played for about 2 hours but it didn't grab us and has now been sold on.
So guys thats my run down on what i have tried and liked how about you?
Any games you recommend us trying?
The only regret we have about the Wii U is we didn't get one sooner
Darren.

Wow Darren - that's awesome! I haven't picked one up yet, but I'm very tempted after seeing all of the news about Super Smash Bros! I've loved that series - playing Melee on the Cube I'm boss at Kirby.
I love Mario Kart, too.

Super Mario 3d World - most fun I had with a game in awhile. I don't recall the specifics, but the game does have a lot more levels that unlock after completing the game and getting enough green stars (380 in total). I got stuck on I believe the last 3 (really tough levels). The stamps however, don't unlock anything as far as I recall.
I got one for the kids and its paid for itself so many times over. Mario kart is played is so much, fun for everyone.
Love how family orientated most games are
Highly recommend
Are you going to get Super Smash Bros Brawl? I'm thinking about getting a Wii U to play that competitively. My Zelda Stiff Kick > all!

@Fetaboy We might play through again and try and go for the 380 stars now you've said that
@iamcartez Umm im not sure about Smash Bros i had it on the wii and didn't like it very much, i know i must be one of the few that couldn't get on with it but i might just pick it up for wii u and give it another shot.
Darren.
I really like ZombiU personally. Really got sucked into the 1 player mode. With the desperation of keeping your survivor alive... because if they die, that's it, your onto a different survivor who will encounter your original character before that, now zombiefied. Also have a bit of fun every now and then with the 2 player mode.
I kinda feel the same about Mario Bros U... we finished it 'n' all, but I don't know. While I enjoyed the Wii title, I guess this one was too similar. But I do look forward to eventually playing Super Mario 3D World.
Play Mario Kart 8 every weekend against Taco-Man, great game.
I play a lot of Hyrule Warriors, but you will have read that it's not for everyone.
If you're after a cheapy for 2 players on the eShop, grab Swords & Soldiers.
Other than those, our most played are Tekken, Injustice, and Nintendo Land.
Main titles I'm hanging out for are Smash, Xenoblade & Star Fox.
Wonderful 101, Pikmin 3, and Bayonetta are all still on my wish list.
We have nearly completed wonderful 101 (stopped playing it when we got The Evil Within for PS4) but its a great game!
We started Pikmin 3 and looks like that will be a good game.
Bayonetta 1&2 are still in the box waiting until we complete wonderful 101 before we start those
I have been looking at Nintendo Land for the multiplayer as its really cheap and looks fun so might pick it up soon.
Darren.
If you can get it really cheap, it'll be worth it for quick little multiplayer sessions. There's always someone who wants to play the Ghost Mansion game.
Well with friends and family invading us this Xmas I think I'm going to have to pick it up then
Darren.
