How does iAds work?

How do you make money with it? Does it depend on how many downloads your app has or does it depend on the how many actually click the ad? .. I'm defiantly going to become pro no doubt about it! I just want my app to get a good amount of downloads before I do..

iAds are just one of many ways to monetize. Usually advertisers pay based on impressions or how many views their ad took in. Clicks on ads can play a part in the revenue too, but it all depends on what type of service you are using. Gamesalad supports 3 ad services. Apple iAds, Chartboost, and Revmob.

IAds work a fee ways.

You want to have an iAd be displayed for at least 45 seconds. This is required by Apple for them to have considered the ad to have been optimized and will give you full 100% value for showing the ad. If your game only lasts for 20 seconds then they do not considered having been given the amount of time for the ad to make a full "impression" to the player and then consideres the ad to not hold as much value and pays you less for the ad you displayed in your game.

So....consider Flappy Bird....the guys game may last for 10-40 seconds depending on how good you flap...if your like me you last 10 seconds...so he didnt have an ad shiwing for a long oeriod of time...he just had 100's of thousands of orople playing each day so he made a bagillion bucks. If you only get 100 downloads and an ad shiws for only 20 seconds and only gets played a few times a day by 10 prople...it could take a month to even make $.25

Long explaination I know but I hope it helps...I sepent a VERY long evening one time figuring all this iAds stuff out and how long it takes for ads to refresh automatically by Apple...45 secs.

@Thunder_Child wow... Do you know how much cash you get per 45 seconds? Is it like 10 cents per 45 seconds or?... I know it'll take hundreds of thousands of downloads or even millions to start making the 50 k plus flappy bird was making per day and the 1.1 million dollars candy crush was also making per day.. But do you know how much someone gets for one 45 second ad?
