seamless background

ok so i know there are plenty of post about having a seamless background and i have went through a good deal of them... i was just wondering which one is the best method to use... right now i have an image thats 1026 having it wrapping with the x position... HOWEVER! its making my game lag like !@#$%... can someone please help me out with a good solution for this please i also changed the scene size to the 1026

Previewer always lags. If it lags on an iphone thats a different story.
But think of the gamesalad preview program as a wooden toaster and your iphone as a fighter jet flying faster than the speed of sound.
edit: just read in a thread if your images aren't a power of 2 you get loss of performance. Try change you scene/background to 1024 size.

That 1026 pixel image is taking up 2048 pixels of memory and will place a bigger strain on the device's processor, reducing it to 1024, just two pixels, will cut its memory footprint in half as well as lessen the load on the processor.
Changing the scene size to 1024 will have no effect on performance, the powers of two recommendation only applies to images.
