Amazon Android Hibernation Issues

What is the proper way to handle the hibernation function with Amazon Android games?
When I do not use a hibernate rule, the game freezes when it comes out of hibernation.
When I make a rule to reset the game upon hibernation, Amazon rejects the app because it doesn't resume the game where it left off.
It's a stupid reason to reject the game since each playing session is usually less than 30 seconds, so restarting is not a big deal anyway.
