Clarification on Resolutions PLEASE

GeohiGeohi Member Posts: 2

Ive been searching the forums and i've found no definitive answers.
First, why is that when i click NEW and iPhone landscape, it starts with display size of 480x320?

The iPhone 6 is 1334x750 and the iPhone 6+ is 1920x1080 - how is this even close to iPhone Landscape?

So when i DO change the Game display size to, i.e., 1334x750 - the bounding boxes within the game are still the original size of 480x320. What to do?

Secondly - when people say "make the image 3x (sometimes they say 2x) larger than the actual display size, what does that really mean? So do i need to make a square 600x600px, but resize it within GameSalad to 200x200px? Can someone please clarify?

Thanks.

First off your choosing the wrong start up resolution! When you create a new project you should then select from the drop down box, the desired device you want to optimise the project for. So if you want an iPhone 6, select it here. What you are currently doing is skipping this process and therefore building it for an old iPhone 4!

To answer your second question. Images and actors are different things. An actor is a box (in theory) that is placed in your screen. An image is the image shown inside that box. So if you are aupporting retina devices (HD) then whatever size your actor is, you need to make the image twice that size. So if your actor on screen is 256x128, then your image should be 512x256 that fits inside that actor. Creator will automatically fit this oversized image inside the actor.

    Hope this helps.
