Transitioning from Gamesalad to Swift?

Hey all,

Just wondering if any of y'all have taken concepts learned with GS and applied them to other coding languages, like swift or obj-c. Or, even if not, have any of you made or found easy connections between concepts and structuring?

Cheers and thanks!

Hi @ShineHouseGames For the record, there's no coding in GSC (it's one of its main selling points) although people still call programming in GSC as coding...

The drag and drop ready-made "lumps" of code, the behaviours and Rules are very similar to BASIC coding/programming, If....when...else, loop, etc.

Obj-c or its replacement Swift still have aspects of object-oriented programming and aspects of so-called high level programming languages...

Why I mentioned that is I don't think there's been much migration from GSC to Swift, for instance, more likely the other way around... as user-friendly as Apple have tried to make Swift (compared with Obj-C) you can't beat the simplicity and hidden power in GSC (despite its max. potential still not as powerful as Swift which would take you 10 times as long though ...) So, my guess, Swift users would still use Swift as well as GSC, from the Swift direction.

    That's my opinion...
