I run a Guild Wars fansite... http://guildwars.us ...where I have electronic magazine...
http://guildwars.us/the-guild-standard-issue-36/ ...a fanzine.
So this morning, I woke up to see the results from my best iTunes sales day ever. For a while, I couldn't figure out why. What was special about yesterday? AH HA... the ezine! Yesterday ArenaNet announced my magazine along with other Guild Wars news.

If you look at issue #36, the PDF version, you can see an advertisement for Commove on the back cover... with clickable hyperlinks. One of the links goes straight into iTunes. I noticed that a surge in traffic to my Guild Wars fansite coincides with the surge in iTunes sales.
Perhaps I should do this more regularly, and maybe even sell advertisement space to other iPhone developers.

My Guild Wars site is no where near as popular as it used to be either. I could probably build it up again. Many of the ArenaNet developers know me. It's possible that they bought copies of my game so they could poke fun at my games for a change. HA HA!

...and then download the PDF...

You can see an advertisement for Commove on the last page.
It was pretty much all Commove for iPad. And I checked, my app doesn't appear to be featured. This surge in sales appears to be all from my fanzine. It seems pretty obvious that I should work harder on my fansite.
And to prove I'm not making this up, App Annie shows record of the surge...

Perhaps this could help other developers. Would you be interested in advertising your apps in my fanzine?
I'm not sure.
