yeah this has been one of my biggest complaints with GS for A LONG time... With this addressed I'm sure all gamesaladers around will be receiving a lot less 1 starers... I'm sure there are still many improvements to be made, but for now I'm content with the loading times
But in another month or so we can bring loading times back up haha
Until Gendai say something it's certainly not definite where these load times are coming from. I upgrade my 3GS to iOS 4 with a load of OLD GS games on it and they all loaded faster...0.8.7 had nothing to do with it.
I refer the honourable member to my previous post, and anyway even in your own post iOS 4 gave you 2 seconds!! I'm just saying my experience was completely different and as QS said here http://gamesalad.com/forums/topic.php?id=7420 it's funny that Gendai are not shouting about it.
I know iOS4 is quicker... (as you and I both see from the test).... but the real speed increase is from 0.8.7....
Its true Gendai should have pointed this out, maybe it was an accident, who knows, but the point is for whatever reason there are massively faster load times in GS 0.8.7....
just wanted to say that the increased loading times are true also for older OS. I have a 3G iPhone running 3.1.3 and loading times for my games went from 15/20s to 3/5s.
Thanks to Gendai for this. I wanted this even more than pause (sorry QS).
You would think that the Gendai folk would be boldfacing, italicizing, and enlarging the font on this particular bullet point. We've been begging for this, since it hurts all of us (especially those with non-customizable splash screens) with load times in excess of 10 seconds.
Curious, what's the load time on the 1st generation iPhone CPU's? There are still a great number of iPhone 2G and 3G users out there.
I have not put ios 4 on any of my devices nor downloaded it to my mac and yes load splash screen is only a third of what it was. Unless GS is using ios4 on their end and not saying anything then it has to do with 8.7. My concern is that our splash screen times are different. All of my other apps regardless of size and different GS builds have splash screen load times of 13 seconds. My newest proto app only 3 seconds and that's with the fade in

Just realized it on my new game I was testing. Guess I'll have to update all my games
Simple to do also
But in another month or so we can bring loading times back up haha
Gendai get to work on iAd!
And I think implementing Game Center would be more advantageous than iads. IMO
Dr. Sam Beckett never returned home...

iPod Touch 2nd Gen (iOS4 GM Seed) Afterburn: Touch Hockey 0.8.6 14s
iPod Touch 2nd Gen (3.1.2) Afterburn: Touch Hockey 0.8.7 7s
Pod Touch 2nd Gen (iOS4 GM Seed) Afterburn: Touch Hockey 0.8.7 5s
I'm telling you there is little to nothing to do with iOS4.... its definitely 0.8.7..
(This game is not currently in the app store)
I will test it with another of my games that is in the app store if you like....
There are already a couple threads on this though directly pointing the speed increase on 0.8.7....
One sec... I'll go find them for you...
Edit: Here you are
Look at Photics "load time" comments I'm not the only one that noticed this

Quoting someone from your thread.... Yes design I am and I'm quite happy with it too
I havent downloaded or installed iOS4, so it had to be improvements to the latest GameSalad update.
Im consistently getting load times of around 1/3 of what they used to be.
So yup...thankyou Gendai. Now please sort out the editor to be more intuitive and have better features
