So we just made our first iPhone app, a game called Phasers, with GS. It's a vertical-scrolling arcade shooter with a cool 3d-tilt effect.
We've uploaded a video of the lite version to YouTube. Please watch it and let us know what you guys think... Thanks!
P.S.: Please vote and tell us how much we should charge for the full version (25 levels).

very good job with the 3d effect!
i'd say 1.99$ would be fine.
what about a tutorial for the 3d, that would be awesome!
by the way, how did you record the iphone screen for the video?!
I watched the video, but couldn't really see the '3D' effect very well. Sorry! And then, in the clearer section recorded from GameSalad, it was totally missing (as you can't tilt).
I have a few of tips for you:
1. I saw, somewhere on the web, an ingenious way of filming an iPhone's screen for a game that used tilt.
Essentially, they'd taken a foam insert (from an iMac's packaging) and attached the iphone on the inside of one of the 'legs', then cut a hole in the other leg and attached a camera to that. This meant the camera and iPhone were constantly held at the same distance from eachother, and that when the iPhone was tilted (by moving the foam) the camera moved as well as they were all attached to the foam. Wish I could find it to show you but I can't
2. I'm assuming that you have movement controls in the game that work off keys, so you can move the ship without tilting your Mac! Why not put an extra line or two in that moves the background while you preview the game on GS. Just so you can better show off the 3D effect.
3. Consider putting in some stars as a background. Essentially, white dots on a transparent background. Make them scroll downwards. It will give your game a feeling of greater momentum. Should take you five minutes if you look up scrolling backgrounds on the wiki.
I'm assuming you've worked out how the game ramps up over 25 levels in difficulty and variety (different ships introduced, different backgrounds etc) so I won't go any further on that.
I'm Impressed with how many shots your ship is shooting, and how many bullets the boss ship shoots out at the end. Any tips on keeping the framerate good?
Cheers, and good luck!

Does it work ok on a 1st gen ipod touch? A 3G iPhone?
Are your bullets a single bullet, or two or three together at once?
THIS IS IMPORTANT DAMMIT!!!

The the actor spawns them off the screen and they coming down. The bullet is single just shoot with timer. We havent tested on 1 st en ipod touch, But it works perfectly on iphone 3gs.
Maybe some of the awesome members and some game salad people should get together and create a separate website that shows you how to do pretty much anything.
In fact I would even pay an annual subscription to join a site like that.
