I know this is a iphone forum ( sort of ) but I am looking to develop for Android aswell as iphone and I am not sure what to use so I thought I would just ask some people here as I know a few make Android games.

So is there anything similar to GS?

Hi Billyd1, I personally can't help you there. The only thing I'd say is, thinking out loud, that development for even a single iPhone game app can take six months or more (as you know already, I'm sure); especially if you're a "one-man band", like the majority of us are. Maybe concentrate on games for iDevices and Mac desktop for now? Just a thought...

    :-)

PS Just read the thread "GS for Android":
    http://gamesalad.com/forums/topic.php?id=7215

In my op., the option to publish for an Android platform via GS won't ever happen, and if it does, that'll be a very long way off...

PPS Just clicked Rob2's link; Corona's looking good; but then you'll be abandoning GameSalad... ;-)

I personally think this looks good.

But you need to do some coding.

I'm gonna go with everyone here and say that Corona is your best bet for multiplatform development. I'm not abandoning GameSalad by any means, but a guy's gotta eat, too.
I suggest you drop $99 on the subscription now before it jumps up near the end of this month.

It nowhere near as easy as a GDK like GameSalad, but if you want to avoid the headache of learning Objective-C, this is by far your best bet.

Sounds good advice for Billyd1! Still got to learn Lua though, by the look of it.

What is their new price? Is this confirmed?

I'd like to hear this too - I wasn't planning on buying until next month when the new iPhone drops in Oz - but I'd buy earlier to save money.

Sorry, re-reading wot I wrote sounded a bit arrogant; wasn't meant to...hope you find the app you're looking for, Billyd1. I was assuming you were going to make your iDevices apps in GS, then use a separate prog for making stuff for Android.

$250 at end of 2nd qtr.

    EDIT
Oops..should have refreshed first...sorry for the repeat post.

I don't suppose there is a link to where that was announced?

If it is clear it wont happen until the end of July (2nd quarter) then I will hold off paying until a week before then, as that means it will line up with my Apple fee - I'd prefer that - much easier to manage.
