R-type style multiplayer shoot em up

Hello,

I was wondering if it's possible to create an r-type style multiplayer shoot em up on game salad?

My main concern is what the limitations would be in terms of realtime in-game player position data being passed. Would the game be laggy or is it even possible to keep track of multiplayers in the same realtime environment?

Also would there be a low limit to the number of players who could play simultaneously?
