Stuck and need help!

Hey guys,

This is my first post in the forums. I've been using GameSalad for a few weeks now and everything is great! However, I have been stuck to a point in developing my game. I've tried everything I could think of, but then again I am still new to GameSalad and could be missing something obvious! Any help will be greatly appreciated :). I also apologize if this type of question has been asked before, although I couldn't seem to find anything similar.

I'm developing a game similar to Stick Hero.

My goal: When the actor runs across the screen, a new platform (actor) scrolls in from the side, for my actor to run and stand on. Then repeat, over and over.
Note: I only want a new platform to scroll into view, if the actor is given the command to run across screen.

The problem I'm having, I cannot get a new platform to scroll into view each time actor is given the command to run across the screen...

Is there a simple fix to this or something I'm missing?

    Hey @AsOfLatte‌,

    I see that this is your first post so just want to give you a heads up. I would like to recommend being more specific with the title of your post. Everyone needs help and people over pass people's threads that aren't specific and just basically say, help!

    It's hard to tell exactly what you are doing wrong without seeing what you have. Maybe post some screen shots of your current rules showing what you have currently.

    They have a stick hero template for sale that will demonstrate how it all works. Sometimes the best tool for beginners a template to dig through and see what makes things tick. Might be the best $15 you spend for a while.

    Hey guys,

    So the "Endless Runner" video from @jamie_c is helping! I was able to tweak the rules a little to fit what I need but I'm still having trouble with one thing...

    How do I get the actor to stop moving?

    Like the "Endless Runner" vid, I want a platform to spawn from the same point each time, scroll across the screen, and then have that platform re-spawn in its original starting point without moving across the screen again.

    Any advice? Sorry if this is confusing...Thanks in advance!

    Welcome to the forums,

    Sent you a PM as we've made Stick Hero and Endless Runner templates but as Bray said we can't post the links unless they're free ones.

    Are you looking for something like the below video?

    The trick i used was to simply move the 3 platforms that are above and below the hero and keep the hero on the same X axis so the hero doesn't move the platforms and enemies do.

    Hey guys,

    One last question and I should be good!

    When I swipe right, I want my platform (actor) to move from the right side of the screen to the left side of the screen, only one time.

    After this action behavior is complete, a new platform spawns on the right side of the screen waiting to move left, when another swipe gesture occurs.

    However, when I swipe right, platform after platform continuously spawns and moves across the screen.

    How to I allow this behavior to happen only once per swipe?
