Control Conflict

Hello, I would like to seek logical advise on control system.
I would have a platformer game where my character jumps when then it has a function swipe down to fall off the platform.
But when i make the character jump as touch press the swipe down doesn't seem to work. I wonder if there is an alternative to use touch press for this aside from making a swipe Up for the jump.

Try using swipe for both up and down movements but for anything going up make it a set amount just like your current jump movement so even a tap will move it.
