I have an app where I am including facts about animals. Should I cite the sources that I am getting these facts from. Is it mandatory? Will my app get rejected if I don't do this?
If your worried...bury it in a credits page as a fine print footnote.
Generally - facts are facts...just don't plagiarize unless its from wiki - which is public domain. If the content is considered "original opinion" or "an original creative work"...then you can get into copyright issues.
But basically...if its just general factual info...don't worry about it too much. But if its bad facts...then you might get hammered by the users.
