Adding PNG sheets to actor

acousticrifferacousticriffer Member Posts: 8
Greetings all,
So I am beyond ecstatic that a tool like this is available for the mac and free to boot. I have had experience working with programs like the RPG maker for the PC and the PNG sheets would load just fine. But I can't seem to add the png sheets on game salad so each individual animation is split it. It keeps just loading the entire sheet as one image. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

GS doesn't have the functionality to load sprite sheets at the moment.

I've never used them, but I imagine it must be frustrating for you if you've come from a sprite sheet background.

Stick with it though - if you liked RPG maker, you'll love GS :)

    Hope that helps,

    QS :)

    Hi, acousticriffer, and welcome!

I'm not familiar with the term PNG "sheets", but I'm assuming you refer to animations built with PNG files. (APNG)

GameSalad requires individual images for animations, so you'll need to deconstruct your animations before using them. Drag the group of images into your Images area, then you'll likely want to assign one of them to the actor, perhaps the initial or final image, or whatever is appropriate.

Then add an Animate Behavior to the actor (prototype or instance, depending on how you use the actor). Drag the images from your Images area into the Animate Behavior window, and you're good to go.

    Hope this helps.

all the sites they give you for sprites only have sprite sheets, anyone have a good suggestion for a (i guess) singular sprites?

OR you could try taking individual images from the sprite sheets?
