Looking at the screenshots, I have to ask - are you left handed?
Reason being that most games put the movement controls on the left, with shoot and whatever else on the right.
I think most joypad controllers on every system since the NES did it like that... was wondering what the thinking was in reversing it...
Anyway, good luck with your app!

Looks really nice!!
I will take it for a spin tonight and leave a review
Im curious to know how sales go.
The game i have been working on for the last month or so is two plater space game
DIff concept but similar in some ways.
I think ipad is great for stwo player one sytem games.
Im sure im not the only one who hates dealing with bluetooth.
I cant count how many games ive downloaded with two player blue tooth only to just check them out once and never play again out of not wanting gto deal with it.

Will check it out and review later...
I like the artwork!
there is no "fire" button but "accelerat" and "breake"… the direction pad is in the right because more people is right handed and I consider it is much important to navigate correctly than "fire" correctly !!! I made betatesting with many people and nobody said that conf is wrong… so I think it is OK for now. But I must say I'm thinking about a revers commands option in a futur version for left handed and other preferences… but this is not a priority.
Yes, this is very cool but not enough… sales are not that I hoped… 40 in 4 days… maybe better soon. I sended e-mails to biggest touch games review sites, so I hope some reviews this week and count with the iPad rush due to sales opening in new countries next week-end… wait and see
I prepare a v1.1 and a LITE for free, maybe it will boost sales ???
Unlike ipod and iphone sales at least that will likely remain steady rather than dwindling down to 1 or 2 after a week or so
As you mentioned, most people are right handed.
If you notice, most joypads on most consoles (if not all of them) have the joypad on the left, with fire (or break, or accelerate) on the right.
It was just a question. I was curious as to your reasoning.
Cheers,

Really it was just "natural"… but if you want an analysis: it apear that you press the direction button most time when you play in GA… the inch is on the joystick and the other fingers below the iPad in both sides. But on "your" right side (in this case my right hand), the feeling is more like a grip… and my reasoning was: when i make something with my hands, I naturally use the right hand for the most important thing and the other to help… like this a drilling machine or any other manual mouvements… try raising a cup of tee, you use your right hand, but when you put some sugar in the tee, you automatically grip the cup in the other hand and add some sugar with the right hand because in this moment putting sugar is most important than hold the cup… no ? it is natural.
And because the most important thing in my game is to navigate with the ship, the joystick "natural" position is under "your" right hand.
In fact I never was a big adept of videogames on consoles… I dont have the practice and the deformation of a gamer…I think iPad is a breaktrough in the man/machine interaction design, So we must experiment… a little bit
He's left handed and has no problem with the d-pad on the left. But it still seemed weird to us that it *is* on the left, when, as you pointed out yourself, it would seem to make more sense to use your 'dominant' hand, therefore having it on the right hand side (as you've done in your game to stay on topic!).
He suggested that it perhaps was a remnant of arcade game controls, but even then, I argued, where did *that* standard come from???
We talked about it a bit more, and he remembered some atari joysticks that had the fire buttons on the side, which meant you could use them ambidextrously.
That got me remembering that the *original* atari joystick (one button, one stick) had the button on the top left of the joystick case.
Which meant you'd have to be using your right hand to hold the actual stick, and using your left hand to press the fire button.
The Atari joystick seemed to be an anomaly in this case, so I did a bit of digging on the 'net and found this very interesting article:

Apparently, science and the Japanese are to blame!

You come across a bit defensive. There's no need. I'm not dissing your game. In fact, I really like the look of it - I just don't have an iPad to try it out with!
