While I'm Waiting for Graphene...

Well I don't know about the rest of you but I'm not going to just wait around twiddling my thumbs while the GS team figure out when to tell us a definite release date for Graphene. I've already downloaded the free versions of a few game builders that are already out there on the market; they pretty much do what Graphene is supposed to do as I understand it at least from what's been discussed. However, these have the benefit of already having been out for a bit and fine tuning things. I want to start learning how to use Graphene type software NOW and not later this year. I'm growing tired of the sluggishness of my GS software. It does not feel pro at all and I really want something that does not slow me down. I mean I just got a new super fast mac book pro for crying out loud and it doesn't seem to run GS any faster than my older, slower mac book pro. Anyway, I'm not mentioning the names of the software I'm starting to learn because I am not here to advertise them given it's a GameSalad forum, but I am hopefully putting a message in the ear of the GS team that a good amount of us are tired of having beta software as pro users as well as waiting for Graphene when I can get comparable software RIGHT NOW. I do love GS but if things don't change I will be moving along possibly later this year.

I agree. I downloaded a free builder last night.

We always hate to see veteran users move on, but if it's time, it's time. No product is going to be right for everyone, and if you find something else out there that's better for you than GS, more power to you!

We all wish that we could wave a wand and have Graphene as we have envisioned and designed it, done right now, but that's just not realistic. @CodeWizard and his team are working incredibly hard on it, but there's an awful lot that goes into developing something like GS and Graphene.

@dgackey Completely understand and don't worry I'm not going anywhere just yet and will probably always use GS to some extent for small projects even when I do move along, but I definitely will be learning how to use others as I need more tools for my utility belt if I'm to defeat the joker and save gotham.

At the end of the day, our job is to make products that you buy because they solve a problem that you need solving! Obviously we're not perfect and we're not perfect for everyone, but none of us take that personally.

We'd prefer everyone stick with us, but that doesn't always work out. Keep on keepin' on!
