LOST MY GAME

in Working with GS (PC)

Hello.

I moved some files around on my computer then went to my game and it showed a save from long ago. :(
Almost everything is lost. Is there a file with the most recent save?

    I opened every save of it I had too. Nothing from recently

    Have you already tried doing a simple search of your computer drive for your file by typing in the file name. Also one way that can help avoid this is by every now and then(like when you add a significant part to your game) and publishing it or uploading it to your profile because one uploaded to your profile you can download the whole game file.

    @myu699 Thanks for the advice but I already checked my files and when I upload to my personal file, doesn't that publish the game?

    what I do is to save my game file on an external usb because you never know what can happen to your file on your laptop

    It happened to me once & I almost died .. I was so close to crying cause I got so far I made like 30 levels out if the 50 levels.. & it basically a new app.. I felt like never coding again LOL

    If you can't find it on your computer, you can at least grab the one that you have published to Gamesalad site in the Portfolio section. Hopefully you built one recently :)

    it doesn't help you now, but backup backup backup backup backup backup backup backup backup!

    i have my stuff in 5 locations and sometimes I think it's still not enough:

    local drive
    server at home (mirrored via Time Machine, and stored on a raid5 enclosure)
    google drive online
    timemachine copy
    crashplan copy
    and i make a new copy of the file on a daily basis or anytime I make a major change

    Thanks guys. But that is the problem. I made a backup on Google Drive and one on my pc, but they all are the very beginning project :( Thanks for the advice. From now on I will save backups to my usb too. Thanks
