Hey @CodeMonster,
None of the new MBP's have disk slots in them. This is so they could make them more compact. You can purchase an Apple superdrive which connects via USB and will play your disks.
Another option is if you have a way to use a different mac the has a disk drive, you could copy the contents of the CD onto a External HDD, thumb drive, etc. Just some options but no, you are not unlucky! LOL
mini Macs no longer come with them either.
I recently purchased a MBP and was shocked it didn't have a drive too. At first I was gutted as I missed that fact it didn't have one but soon learned you don't need one these days. My main issue was existing software like Microsoft office which was on a disc but I was able to download it direct from Microsoft and still enter my product key from my box. What annoyed me most about the MBP is the ram! I purchased it with full intentions of upgrading myself self without the Apple Ram price tag. That was until I booted it up and realised the MBPs ram is hard soldered and not changeable! Not even my local Apple store can do it!

They dont even have an HDMi outlet. So behind the times they are. Everything appears to be an over priced cheap quality add on with Macs today. No wonder they are so rich

Apple has a long history of removing features that are dying. They killed off the floppy drive in the original iMac when it was clear CDs were the future. Now they've killed off DVDS drives as it's clear digital is the future. I've had Macs without DVD drives for five years now and only once have I needed to plug in a DVD drive.
It's just untrue to say they don't have HDMI - just like with PCs some models do, some don't. I don't know what Macs you've been using but my MacBook Pro is of a higher build quality than any PC I've ever seen. I'm guessing you're making assumptions based on ignorance.
The DVD you were given with Internet security software. Ignore it. It will just be bloat ware that you really don't need.
The soldered RAM thing was indeed annoying though. I certainly don't support that change for a moment. Luckily they upgraded me to 16gb for free when I bought my last MacBook Pro.

I have an iMac 27" purchased May last year. And it hasn't got HDMI. A few USB ports, some electrical stuff and thats it. My PC is 10x faster 5x more powerful and 1/2 the money.

Well hyperbole aside, I'm happy you have such success with your PC. But if you wanted a Mac with an HDMI port, you should have bought a Mac with an HDMI port.

I had no idea they would be an option extra. Being a PC gamer, it comes as standard when I order a graphics card. Funny that really.

Because Apple target a different market? My MacBook Pro has an HDMI port and do you know how many times I've used it? Once.

I am in dire need of an internal floppy drive for my MBP!
Well the reasoning is your iMac has a built in display

I am puzzled. Why would you ever need HDMI on a 27 INCH IMAC?!?!
To plug it in to a 70 inch tv !

You can just use a thunderbolt to HDMI adaptor.
Wait, the TV doesn't have a Thunderbolt port? Mac have Thunderbolt ports, so by the logic of this thread all electronics should have them.
