How can I open my game salad game in other software? (eg. Xcode, etc)

I have been trying to upload my app using iTunes connect and it requires I upload my builds and of the two options it gave I'm going with Xcode to do it. However when I try to open my app in Xcode it says the .gameproj is incompatible and I can't figure out how to convert the extension to something else. Any help would be appreciated and feel free too let me know if I've got this completely wrong. Thanks in advance.

You can't open the gamesalad project in any other software, you need to publish your app from within gamesalad, and then sign and download your app from the web publishing portal
you then zip up that resulting file and upload it using the application loader
