One thing that tickled me was that you can cheat in the game...
Just press 'Pause'.
Everything else stops, but your ship can still be moved
C'mon Gendai - give us proper pause back already!

The way I coded it is that when you die, the game is paused, the ship respawns with one less life, and the "3.. 2.. 1.. Go" appears. The ship can be moved before the game resumes again, because suppose you died in a spot with a lot of enemies/bullets coming right at you... when you spawn you would die immediately again (or take very heavy damage). An unintended side-effect of this is that you can move the ship while the game is paused "normally".
So I'm thinking... bug or feature?

I like the way the background moves, very nice touch!
My only suggestion at this point is that some of the text is difficult to read... especially the red on the blue. It's always tempting to play with fonts and colors, but effective communication should always be top priority. (I'll not get into that in the reveiw :-)

Just a couple thoughts (not shared on the app store). As I mentioned earlier, I would suggest in your next update looking at the type readability. Some of us with a little less than perfect eyesight would benefit. Also, there seems to be some differences in the sharpness of graphics in different ships. For me, the tilt control works much better than the buttons, the buttons just seemed to mover too severely. Just an opinion shared.
Again, liked the way the background shifts, a very nice touch. Best of luck with sales.

From a marketing point of view, I'd change your screenshots on iTunes.
Only two of the five shots show the actual gameplay. One is wasted on your company logo. Another is wasted showing the two types of control. A third shows the power-ups.
They should all, really, be about your gameplay. You've got over 20 levels you can choose from. I think most people would rather see five screenshots showing different backgrounds/enemies etc...
Just my thoughts - other than that, largely agree with Mr. Design up above me apart from the controls. I think the touch controls are actually ok, but I've not tried the tilt controls.
Still, I do try and avoid tilt controls on games in general...

Maybe use one of the colourful nebula from one of your backgrounds and have the ship in front of that? It would certainly help make it more prominent I think...

Came across some crippling slowdown, which made it unplayable.
I started on level four, which was fine.
Half way through level 5 it started to stutter badly.
By the end of level 6, the boss and the red saucers were essentially motionless and I couldn't move my ship because the frame rate had sunk to effectively 1 :O
I was playing on an iPhone 3GS with IOS4.
Did you guys not see this at all while testing?
Other than that, I kinda like the game - it's certainly of the type I enjoy! And the 3D background is good fun
