Can we make utility apps too or just games?

Just wondering if we can do it since it'll give us means to control the phone.

Sure, as long as Gamesalad supports the functionality you'll need in the APP, you can make anything you'd like.

Depends on what you mean by utility apps. Since you can't acess stuff like camera etc. you are limited, but of course you can build an app that is not a game. I know there are examples of this if you google around a bit.
