Keep Audio Playing from App when phone is locked

Is there a way to do this? I did it recently using a config.xml bit of code using PhoneGap... I imagine there has to be a way to do this with GS.

So basically I have music playing in my app. I want to know if there's a way to keep the music going after you lock your device or your device goes to sleep, etc.
