How to make a fuel gauge.

Hello all.
I was wondering how to make a fuel gauge for an actor.
The actor would pick up fuel cells and they would fill the gauge. As he ascends the fuel is depleted slowly from the gauge.
Would it be like making a HUD life bar? I think I saw a tutorial for that...
Anyways, whatever help comes my way is greatly appreciated.

On a side note. Do people ever collaborate on GS? As in a 50/50 profit share or something.
Just curious.

Yeah, pretty much exactly like making a health bar. Just make a Global Integer named Gas Level or something, and apply that to the Health Bar example. When you collide with a gas tank, set Gas Level to +10 or however much you want.

And when Up is pressed (Or whichever button) to ascend, put a rule in that says, when Up is Pressed, Every .2 seconds (Adjust this to however you like) set Gas Level to "Gas Level"-1

Thanks TwilightHunter. I want the amount of fuel to be affect by other actors as well. So I would make a collide rule when Actor 1 hits Actor 2 an amount of fuel is lost?

Yeah, just like that! Change it up for different actors. I like your thinking ;P
So when Player hits say an oncoming meteor or whatever your obstacles are, set Gas Level to "Gas Level"-10
Change to your likings of course.

And to answer the 2nd part of your query... Do GS members collaborate i would say 'not much'. There was talk a while back about a big community game where interested parties all added a bit... I might dig it out and bump it as it was a good idea...
