Guess iAd revenue for some isn't all it's cracked up to be... We'll have to wait and see!

The title seems to over-down-sell it a little too much. Good info though.
In my opinion the fill rate is irrelevant though. Its just a matter of time.
Apple is more than capable of selling that service.
It is very new and as we all know, apple doesnt like to tag things "beta" to the public consumer.
But lets face it. it is in beta.

it is what it is. Still tough it all comes down to having a popular free game.

Like i had said in another post I am just about done with really simple a non gs game that i will try iAds in.
It's also a universal app so hopefully it will get enough downloads to get some good iAds feedback.

I am also thinking about re-writing doodle monster with Unity.
Since it has around a million downloads and could be rewritten fairly quickly due to how stupid it is.
I have never liked the game but I have always wanted to find a use for all of those downloads lol

Ironically though Doodle Monster is the main character in my next GS adventure. I like him. Just not the game.

Doodle monster would be the perfect game for iAds :) I would definitely go for that!

So would a good plan be, instead of releasing lite versions of games with iAds in the,, to just release a full version and give them the option of getting the version without?

    Or still do a lite.
No ads is just one more selling feature to add to the list of things like more levels.

Personally though with buggies or my next game i would not even want adds on my lite.

I think adds have a place in casual gaming but, not in something you want people to take seriously. You would never find an add in a mario game even a lite on the app store (too bad we wont ever see that though)

I thought some of the coolest adds are when they incorporate it into the actual game play.
I remember being shocked when i saw a futuristic McDonald's add in Anarchy Online years ago.
