Apple Press Conference - What's Up?

OK, so those of you who don't know yet - 3 AM (my time - 10 AM in California) on Sturday/Friday (Aust/Cali) Apple will be holding a press conference

Now, maybe this is just to reassure angry shareholders after the 5% drop - but I'm still concerned.

Who thinks there is going to be a recall on the iPhone 4?

There's been a lot of speculation flying about this past week, but frankly I can't see how they'd even do it - 1.7 million devices in 3 days - and many buyers saying they would not return the iPhone either way.

All I know is, if they iPhone 4 isn't out here by the end of the month as promised, I'm going to be one saaaaaaaaaad (and maaaaaaad) Panda >:(

    They won't recall, but expect more delays as engineers try to fix the issue. At most Apple might provide free bumpers.

    Polygame - I actually nearly included a poll option for how awesome I am, but left it.

    I want my iPhone. I WANT IT.

    I'm sitting on enough money to pay the first two months saved in advance, the rest I can cover without issue, but I knew it'd be a rough few months so scraped it together beforehand - now I'm still stuck waiting. *head explodes*

    @peach - why don't you get a cheap iPod touch 1st gen off ebay - this way you can test your games on the old timer of the bunch whilst waiting for you shiny new iphone 4...

    Debug, thanks for the suggestion, but it's up to £70 now and bah - the new 3rd gen ones, 8 GB, are only $238 new here from DSE - I can't really justify it to myself as I know I'd still be getting the iPhone when it eventually comes out, but also I'm getting an iPad for my 21st - if I got an iPad AND an iPod Touch it would be pushing $900; I've had enough trouble justifying spending the iPad's total on myself.

    That said - we'll see what happens. If tomorrow morning they announce big delays or a recall I may change my mind on that.

    As to Aussies being up late - normally I'm up until 7 AM - last night I went be three as I knew I had to be up early today. ^-^;

    Polegame, don't insult the Aussies - I don't tease you about your sheep-a-day habit :P

    Peach, if you are going to be doing serious game development, you should probably invest in a touch anyway. Your iPhone 4 and iPad are high performance machines compared to what the majority of the gaming market (at the moment) is using.

    Just a thought to factor in.

    @QS - Darling, you know I can never stop at one - you're like Pringles, you is!

    @Design - I'm aware of that; but thank you :) I'm getting my partner an iPod Touch but not until his birthday, which is soon after mine - but not yet. I could buy it for him now but really, I'd rather get it for his birthday as money is tight and I want to ensure he gets something he really wants. Plus, I think once I've tested my games through for the obvious stuff I can ask a fellow GSer to have a play on an older device and let me know :) (QS, I'm looking at you :P Should never have told me you had a 1st Gen Touch!)
