I don't want any new Features. A stable final build please.
I have the luxury of working 8-10 hours a day with game salad. Which is awesome.
But the version is so unstable and requires a restart every 5 minutes or you encounter loading times of up to 1-2 minutes on scene changes or moving in and out an actor.
Roughy every 5 minutes i lose 10 seconds.
Making 2 minutes each hour.
Making 16 to 20 minutes a day just re-starting game salad.
I love the new upcoming features special the ones that help monetize our apps.
But right now I am just looking for a final stable build with the existing features, getting regularly update to match SDKS of platforms and and any other Services.
So please cut down on new features now. Put all the nice new ideas into Graphene and focus on just making game salad round.
I'd rather work with a limited stable toolbox than with a feature loaded unstable one.
Your biggest fan,
David

Well said @BigDave I was thinking the same thing while working on my FireTv App.
The current version of GS becomes unusable every 5 minutes. I have to force quite GS and reopen. A more stable build would be ideal vs a myriad of new features.
Even so, I would like to thank the GS Team for all their handwork which is part of the reason why I just renewed my pro membership for a 3rd consecutive year.
Thanks GS,
Dale

I agree completely, It's almost unbearable to use now.
I have to agree. I've been doing some paid work recently and it is a big time waster to have to have restart so often, not to mention how slowly the latest build can run at times. It's not such a big deal when you are a hobbyist, but when doing paid work its a real problem, either I'm losing money or I have to overcharge which is not fair.

This is actually exactly what we're doing! The primary objective at this point is fixing bugs and stability. But there's a lot of tech debt in Mac Creator that wasn't causing any problems until Yosemite launched, forcing a lot of heavy changes all at once. Just hang in there!
Source: my desk is next to @BlackCloakGS and I hear him swearing at Mac Creator bugs all day.
Cannot agree more with the others. It's even slow on Mavericks.
@WebWarrior - Great! I hate waiting.

@WebWarrior Glad to hear that
I think the change in iOS tech hasn't helped. Or, if Apple communicated it out earlier perhaps companies could have been better prepared. But yes, I get frustrated having to close down GS every few minutes just to do something simple.
Like Balls? Then click here! We've 100 coming soon
I very much agree. I think the stability and speed of the mac creator should be a priority. I have stopped working on my projects until this is resolved.
I'm sure it's not an easy fix, and GS seem to be on the case. Thanks guys!
@WebWarrior, awesome!

@stevej and my top priority is getting out an ARC build of Creator that fixes the performance issue you guys are seeing.
However, changing memory management systems on a 7 year old code base is not an easy task. We should have a build RC build out to you some time next week. Thank you for your continued patience.
If you're only losing 2 minutes every hour you're very lucky On a big project that loading wheel appears fast and goes away slow I assume you tried my cache clearing trick? It definitely seems to make a difference, but doesn't remove the problem.
Really looking forward to next week and the RC! fingers crossed
When a project is large, I've simply had to take 40-50% off my bills since Yosemite. I've done dozens and dozens of hours of work I've simply not felt it was fair to charge for. If it takes me 2 hours to do an hour's work due to a slow creator, that isn't the client's fault.

Agree totally, same here. I can't bill the client for lost time, just take the hit and hope things speed up sooner than later.

Hey I already fixed that for you You just need to use 10 bits of logic instead of 1

I'm working on that.
I bring it up because as I had said...it used to work and now doesn't. Kind of a bummer I was getting responses from bug zapper and after last discussion and a fix from you guys...it seems to have been dropped because for some reason that can't make the issue happen...even when I sent a version of my build that can't NOT make them see. I made my explanation so clear how to repeat the issue and they asked me a question so far out it blew my mind. I won't send bug reports anymore for anything. Bit either works or it doesn't.

Heres to stability!
@Thunder_Child Yes, I just tease. They presumably ran string.format(x) (or whatever the equivalent is) on displayed numbers before and it got left out in some more recent version. Definitely a very quick fix that I too hope for soon!

@BIgdave Sorry to hear that. Have you tried the Windows version Release Candidate version 13.1? It's compatible with any version 13 of the mac from what I understand.
If you don't have it already, download bootcamp for Mac to use Windows on a mac computer[you will still need a windows program, the 90 day free trial of windows 8.1 enterprise is what I went to when I needed to see the diff between using the creator on 7 and 8). Just something you might want to try out if the slowdown is that bad. Good luck!
Edit: I meant version 13.2, and I just looked at the pre-installation for Windows 8.1 and it mentions that it had to be activated before October 2014, my apologies. I don't know if there is any other windows trials available at the moment.
Don't hold your breath some users have been waiting years for a stable version
Agreed! Less restarting and less time loading would be a dream come true, just hoping it comes sooner than later

@BigDave +1
The average person can hold their breath for about 2 minutes. That's not very long.
@BigDave The team is working hard on the ARC conversion. Yosemite really threw us for a loop on that. We were hoping to hold out another year before having to bite that off. We're down to a dozen bugs or so and we've got two guys working on it. The restarting is unacceptable.
@CodeWizard keep up the good work guys im sure youll get it sorted soon.
I basically restarted my gam eusing a version of 12 as it didn't really use anything of the 13+ builds its working out, although moving all the code over manualy was a bit of a choir at first but its working out great now.
@bigdave I guess your troubles are that your updating existing games that are in the 13+ build!
my rule of thumb now is to build in 12 then open in 13 to publish or add extra stuff that only 13 can do at the very end of the project, its annoying for now but my 3 games are about 4 months off release!
hang in their everyone
@BigDave i agree with you 100%
it's a great simple engine 2D but unfortunately i lost my hopes to have a stable and solid framework with GS...
i just update my old games and add Adv cause is impossible to work with creator...
