Optional loading wheel
I'm a pro user for some months now and absolutely love everything about Gamesalad, but the loading wheel in the corner is really starting to annoy me.
I have read so many posts of people trying to get rid of it, or finding all kinds of ways around it. Simply because sometimes it's just there for 1/100th of a second, useless.
In my latest game I'm changing camera positions instead of using scenes, but this has disadvantages as well, like when people close the game and come back after a while, no iads are being displayed anymore. I also cannot properly display other ad networks which are activated between or after scenes.
In my eyes this is something we shouldn't have to do. I've created a feature request here http://bugs.gamesalad.com/show_bug.cgi?id=942 and hope it will change.
Meanwhile other working workarounds are welcome

In publishing you can upload you own custom image.

Thanks. I understand but I don't mean what the Loading wheel looks like, but the fact something is spinning in the corner, often for no reason. The loading times of many small games, and the faster speed of devices don't require it.
Making it a selectable option, like the glossy icon, or the device orientation, would be such an improvement.
Just make games that does not change screens, on android phones with 3gbs of ram the take about half a second too switch scenes. On all iPhone the max they use is 1gb of ram that is why they take so that's why the take so long. Plus on iOS the Os take about at third of the ram.
If you hate the the thing spinning put a blank image there. Also optimize your game to run faster.

My games are extremely small, very few images and 1 tiny sample, little over 100kb before generating. Still changing to home or gameover scene displays the Loading wheel, in a flash.
Uploading a custom one with a blank image displays a blank square, but still rotating on a rounded edge image in the corner, even on top of the iAd.
Uploading a transparent image also doesn't work as well.
I would like to be able to just select if it should be incorporated in the game or not.
If you want to completely remove it, you have to edit your .apk or .app and repackage it.

This is true did not think about that @Lovejoy
This would be so much better;
@presweb please do not lobby through the messaging system. Your just copying and pasting

Thanks for the assumption and taking the time to comment here, I'm not.
I am looking for like minded people however, everyone who thinks this is a nice idea please vote here:

Thanks for your PM...I apologize for having assumed you were doing a copy and paste lobby....I had changed my profile icon recently...sort of by accident. It looks like someone else.
I do agree it would be nice to have MORE options with the loading wheel. I personally have and use a custom one...but if someone doesn't want one...and GS will make it an option I agree it would be nice to have it. Im kind of sour right now...I want fixes not features.
Thanks and sorry again.

You know what they say about assuming
I've read here on the forums that Apple requires a loading wheel. If none is presented, they will reject the game during review. How that works for games not made with GameSalad, I don't know - this is just what I've read. @BlackCloakGS can shed some light on this I'm sure.

@Braydon_SFX I read that as well. But I play a lot of games and don't recall encountering them as often as in GS games, except in Mortal Kombat last week which was huge, and not even made with GS
I checked the iOS Developer Library and found this:
"If an action takes a noticeable and indeterminate amount of time to process—such as a CPU-intensive task or connecting to a network—you should display an activity indicator to give assurance to the user that your app is not stalled or frozen."

Sounds to me like mandatory when loading takes a longer time.
Need optional on/off loading wheel.
Without loading wheel, we can get the game approved.

@presweb Voted!
It's kind of funny you mention that because sometimes I wish I could control how big the loading wheel was. I wish I could center it, for example, and make it much larger.
Vote for Nearest Neighbor Scaling option in gamesalad! Let's make our games look truly stunning!
You can go to Adobe illustrator , create a 128x128 square white, change opacity to 0, export png and then put it as you loading wheel, nothing will appear between scenes
@daaddd Have you personally tried that technique? That's a great idea and I'll definitely be trying it !
Also, would Apple approve an app submission if someone were to hide the loading wheel with this technique?
Perhaps, an actual loading page would help secure the approval by Apple, just in case?
There would still be an opaque boarder around the, should be, loading wheel.
