My spawner is driving me crazy
Hi all, Ive posted about this before but it died a death and I still am stuck getting my spawner to work correctly.
I have 4 actors that spawn randomly on the Y axis (4 choices) the moves across the X to a random X position on the selected Y axis.
However, I wanted to attach 3 'detector' actors to the main spawning object ( although theres 4 actors, its the same object spawning. I made 4, to keep them on their own Y axis.
I managed to attach the detectors to the object but then it only spawned on one X/Y position as I used game level attributes to attach the detectors.
Essentially, I would like to have my bucket spawn on a set random Y axis (choice of 4 levels), then spawn a random X position once it spawns on the Y axis. Once the Projectile overlaps with the bucket, it then destroys it, to respawn another bucket but on a different X/Y axis.
phew!
thanks in advance for any pointers or help as I am really stuck on this now

Sorry -- maybe its just me, but I can't even visualize what you are describing. It seemed that you changed to a new description when you started talking about buckets and projectiles. (Earlier you used generic terms like 'spawner' and 'detector'.) And I can't find a question to answer!
Perhaps a diagram or two would help? And consistent descriptors?
Just found the old thread lol http://forums.gamesalad.com/discussion/85515/best-way-of-achieving-random-actor-spawning-and-random-x-positions#latest
i think my brain has fried lol
