How to export projects?

WOLFENSTEINWOLFENSTEIN Member, PRO Posts: 64

I want to export a GS file someone sent me for the mac so I can view it on my PC, the problem is, I'm a complete idiot when it comes to macs, like seriously, I had to google how to take a screenshot for this post because I'm USELESS on macs, so be kind when you reply to this painfully obvious question, because macs and I are not friends.

I want to export a project, on windows, I'd click this:

However, on the mac I can't see that, all I see is this:

I've looked through the lists and options and I can't find a big shiny export button. (Also I'll be happy to help with Windows issues people have, GS related or not. I'm kind of like a seal, beautifully graceful in the cool waters of windows, but uncoordinated and useless on the dry land of macs).

I'm not familiar with the windows creator, but I thought you can open a mac project in windows creator when the versions are the same (correct me if i'm wrong). When they release 0.14 it will be cross platform all the way, GS is working hard on this;)

Well, that would make it easier.. I just don't want to have to use the mac gs any more than I have to, that little macbook hates me, I can feel it's resentment for me.

I don't have an answer for you, but will say this: Learn the mac. I was windows and linux, hadn't used an apple since their first release of a computer (way back when). I moved to mac about a year ago and simply love it now. Yes there are confusing things, but the more you use it the more you see the thinking in design and it gets much easier.
GameSalad is mac-centric and almost everything will probably be easier. Use cloud or something to send things back and forth between systems.
If one of the problems with mac was it hanging up, that all cleared up for me with the latest update, they seemed to have really cleaned up all the apple program (still not used to calling them apps) memory bleed. My 2 cents

Sadly... @ant_lad is correct. If you want to do serious development in GameSalad get a Mac and learn it. The developers are first and foremost Apple fan's. The Mac version is ALWAYS leaps and bounds over the Windows version. I finally gave into the dark side and started developing on a Mac.

Plus, you MUST use a Mac to publish for iPhone/iPad.

Mac files are compatible with both versions of the creator.
