Hello, I understand that HTML5 games can't be published to your owns site yet except through the use of an iframe, but I was wondering (I am definitely new to everything here btw) if when you use the game on your personal website in an iframe is it possible to set up a leaderboard to track the scores of players that play the game through your website (and not the gs arcade)?
Again I am very new and this is probably a silly question but thank you in advance!

As far as I'm aware you can create a leaderboard using tables which are in game only. No score sharing or network stuff. but still if you design your startup screen listing the top five players I can see that still being effective.
Thank you very much JimmyMesser, I think that'll have to do, so that's gonna have to be a leaderboard of everyone playing it in both the gamesalad arcade as well as on my website correct? Thanks again for the information
Yeah Marker.... Im sorry that it will have to do. They proudly advertise their greatness with HTML5 Publishing. But its not so great once you read the fine print. I still dont know why HTML5 has been ignored so much.
Yeah, thank you for the help guys, I'm trying really hard to be able to work with gamesalad but like you said the html5 part of it is just severely lacking and I know it said on their roadmap they were planning on being updating that but I don't even think its on their roadmap anymore, I think I might, unfortunately, have to go with something else although I'd really like to use gamesalad I might just have to wait until they update.....good thing I didn't buy pro yet....thank you again so much!!
On another note, I wonder how their new program is gonna work, is it similar to gamesalad and I wonder if it's going to have html5 self publishing or still be lacking there
I hate sounding like the negative one here. But man dont hold your breath. I have nothing against the guys behind the scenes. But from my expereience and time watching that roadmap. It has more flash than bang. They got their hands in some many cookie jars at one time.. they dont know whats going to release first. Or what deal is going to put a hold on what. My best analogy to subscribe their release system is like this.
Imagine if you will........ France, 1500s. Peasents standing outside a castle wall waiting to see what scraps will be thrown out the window this time. Sometimes the king decided he was not that hungry and canceled the party and you get all kind of goodies. Sometimes your lucky youre not standing outside the pee pot window.
I would use Forrest Gump but........ with a box of chocolates. You at least know your gonna get something good.
I would imagine graphene has all of the functions gamesalad lacks. Would be nice for them to stabilise the builds on PC and Mac and give us html5 publishing but I guess they have consintrated more on publishing to mobile devices because that is were the money is.
money for them, is giving a customer what they need that will entice them to pay the 299.00 The OP isnt going pro because gamesalad hasnt given html5 the attention that is strong enough to lure them in. Hence Customer lost. And Im sure there have been others. For same issue or other similar reasons. But like I said.... thats none of my business.
