The sprite engine part of GameSalad needs a good overhaul. Its still rather basic at the moment.
As well as simple flipping it could do with things like frame independent sizing so that each frame can be a different size, with different size collision area. This would make animations like crouch work much better for example...where the spritesize reduces in height as the character kneels down, and as he does so, the collision changes size too to match it.
Ideally some sort of pixel collision for sprites would be useful too, instead of just box and circle.
Im guessing these sort of things are scribbled on a big to "do list" somewhere at Gendai Towers.... or at least they should be!
With the whole iAds and iOS4 panic out of the way, and the newly announced financial investment in Gendai, Im hoping were now going to see a change of direction for a few months, and see long needed improvements to the basic engine and toolsets become more of a priority.
Me too. Would definitely like to see improved collision. I'm working on a 2.5D racer and I've had to pull some weird tricks to get collision working properly... and I'm not even using any collision rules. LOL.

...Hopefully something Gendai will consider in a future release.

Or I'll start with a nice "space shooter"?
