It gives me great pleasure to announce to the GS community that it is indeed possible to make a pretty decent (hopefully accurate) rhythm machine that loops infinitely at any tempo using only one timer and no constraints.

With everything in so far, there is no obvious drop of framerate from 60fps.

Now hoping for a smooth submission process to App Store.

Here's a video demo (I made a Mac OSX binary then used Quicktime's Screen Recording)

    Dude, congratulations!

That actually looks like it works! Brilliant!

It's good to see GS used for so many different things so nice one! What dedication to audio, and what an achievement!

DAMN IT!!! I JUST PAID $12.99 FOR THAT BLOODY AKAI ONE!!! lol.

Thanks QS! It was one false start and 2 days of staring at my wife's iMac, but I'm glad I did it. I now have a new (better) way to code Mozart To Infinity loops!

Learning by experience means a lot to me. :D

    Absolutely agree.

It's why I experiment so much with all the ideas in my head. I've started plenty of games that got to a certain point and then I've just stopped for one reason or another.

None of it is wasted time though. Because I've learned so much from trying out stuff for the unreleased games that the games I *do* end up releasing easily benefit from it!

Best of luck! I imagine we can expect a Mozart update? (Mozart 2.0?) :O

@QS, I hope to squeeze out the time to recode Mozart 2.0 from scratch. ~_^

@POLYGAMe I'm quite sure that $12.99's gonna give you a lot more features, spit and polish compared to NeuMET1K's humble $0.99. But I do intend to splash out promo codes here too for anyone who's keen to give it a spin (and hopefully chip in a good word) :D

Did I ever mention that I am also now the father of newborn twin girls? :D

It's been taxing, trying to juggle everything, but there are always rewards waiting at the end of perseverance.

That looks very sweet! Look forward to trying it out.

Congrats on the twins! I've got two with about three years between, I can't imagine double diaper duty. Good luck with that too.

And the beat goes on. Good work! I think I can guess the clever way you did it based on what you said.

I also have some drum machine-y things planned...
Music and multimedia apps just happen to have similar requirements to games
Think big! And of course, different. ;-)

    Promo codes?
Re: akai - see my synth reviews on you tube, I bet they will enhance it more later?
    Name there is VJFranzK
It's a pretty nice synth also. They just need to get the live recording mode in there
    For all the MPC headz

I wish there was a different data type that will truly simplify the process of storing such user generated data. The most common request that music apps get is a recording mode and that is where the challenge is when using GS for this purpose. :)
