What to design for?

Hi all,

Just quick question if I want to make a game for iPhone only is it best to,

  1. Design for iPhone 6 plus and use the universal thing so it fits lower devices?

  2. Design for iPhone 5 and let overscan/universal do it thing?

  3. Or do I even need overscan/universal as any game that fits on iPhone 5 will automatically be full screen on newer devices?

  4. Does making it universal for iPad really make a difference?

Thanks

iPhone 5 and up or is it best to have game fit for 4S and below to these days?

Maybe that's something you need to research, once you have fixed your technical parameters it'll be easier to decide the best starting point.

But . . . if the target platform is 5, 5c, 6, 6 plus (all 16:9) then you wouldn't need to bother with universal builds, overscan, letterbox (and so on) as the aspect ratio is always the same.
