Cannot get the scenes to work?

Hello! I am new to GS and just downloaded it for my PC at home. I've tried to follow some tutorials on how it works but even if I manage to make myself a scene with actors and platforms when I press Play it's only a black screen and not showing any scenes down in the scene section. Is there any good tutorial on how to only get started and how to fix the bugs etc?

Thanks for your reply. I took a look and fixed what the positioning issue where my computer is using (,) instead of (.). However, my issue still stands as where my Preview section doesn't seem to find my scenes I took two screen shots to show before and after.
This is what I have done to try it: PS. press on the image to widen it.

However when I press the "Play" button left of "Toggle Backstage" this is what happens, or should I say, what does not happen...:

Hopefully someone can help me solve this! Have a couple of weeks before my college starts and I'd hope to get some work done

EDIT:
I could also mention that the "Web Preview" button to the far right is working perfectly and it finds my scenes etc.. Are there any difference between them both?

I'm not sure... that definitely doesn't look right. There's some Windows issue related to language settings. I don't recall if that's covered in the post I linked to.

Unfortunately not, the post does only cover the positioning problem where my language settings didn't understand that a period(.) determined decimals. However that is solved now.
