Question regarding Gamepad

Hi,

Just bought a Logitech F310 Game Pad controller, and it's awesome, already implemented in my upcoming game. However, I have a question, for example, if I'm in the menu of the game, and I want to use the gamepad to choose between menu's, how would I go about doing that? Any tutorial or help appreciated it....God Bless....
