I would like this option as "guides" would help you align an object to an object or, have it snap to the edges of the scene. I would also love to have an optional snap to grid feature.
Would totally love a snap to grid function, with a customisable grid, for laying out worlds made of tiles.
Would also like to know if anyone has suggestions for a way to lay out a tile based world with a data driven technique, such as storing the map data elsewhere (?), and then loading the tiles in that way...?

No, sorry, the GS engine hasn't anything like that capability.
