Is there a forum for beginners?

I'd like to find a discussion forum place where there are more GameSalad novices like me. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I am also looking for a paid tutor, either online or in person (Silicon Valley area) to help me.

Thanks!

This forum is the place. With only 2 posts I'm not sure you have learned the value of the forums. Becoming just a basic user with no previous experience takes (at least in my case) a year minimum to start clicking enough buttons and using the forums to get a nice grasp of the things GS can do. Some are pretty easy to learn. There are of course MANY advanced things GS can do. Even paid tutoring is gonna cost you a hefty lump of cash. Have you seen the cookbook on the GS website where you download the software. It's a good place to start. Tutorials...templates. Just diving in.

Maybe try to make a couple simple games...think Atari. Pong, asteroids, breakout. Those are good ones to start understanding how rules and attributes can be used and modified.

Maybe I can make a thread where "noobs like us" can find those previous threads more easily, those tutorials...those templates.

You just have to use that search tool also...in GS like you would Google. Just type a Boolean question. It's been asked before most likely.

I offer a paid tutoring service for a rate of $40 per hour. However, it will likely take you at least 10 hours to get a decent grasp on things even with 1-on-1 instruction. There are some great online courses you should consider following first to get a cheaper introduction to GameSalad.

    Thanks Thunder_Child and Armeline.

I am getting well-versed on YouTube videos and GShelper.com, and have been messing around with making simple games. I'll keep going, and Thunder_Child, I'll keep an eye out for the "newbs like us" thread.

    Armeline- I'll email you.

Thanks both for the super quick answers!

@msecchia Awesome! I had the .pdf open on one side of the screen and opened game salad on the other. Then I would select a section of text and use speech to read it as I worked along on the project. Its kinda like having Jamie there with you as you are working through it. He also has a course on Udemy. Have fun!

My YouTube has over 100 videos on GS. I recommend my GS Logic series after watching the introduction To GS video.
