Forum Search Filters

Do we have? Or can we have search filters in the forum search.

There have been tons of changes since day one of GS creator. And I would like to find the most up to date answers to FAQs.

Example: I want to find info on the most recent instructions on how to install viewer on my iOS devices. I know the method has changed since the first day till now. Apple and Xcode have done things to make steps easier.

Example: GS staff has continued to make changes within the creator and viewer. These on going changes sometimes mean that old tutorials and instructions are obsolete.

Creating some type of filter system so that search parameters can be better defined. Would be a big help in finding the latest discussions on the latest changes and updates on instructions and tutorials.

Is this Possible?

I'd use Google rather than the forum's own search facility, Google GameSalad.com + search term.

So google is going to dive right into the same database as the search tab in the forums?

I doubt they use the same database, if that were the case then the recommendation to prefer Google over a forum search would be baseless.

well i was hoping to stay confined to the forum listing. Hence why i was asking about a possible filter system.

Google is worth 100s of billions of dollars, their main focus is internet searches, it's unlikely that anyone could outperform them (or even come close) in the area of internet searches.

There is nothing to stop this happening, if you want to stay confined to the forum's search facility that option is certainly available.

Like the many offered by Google, perhaps?

I feel like I'm on a ping pong table.

Game salad forum topics database. Add some filters in the search tab. Can we please have some filters.

I'm aware of Google. I'm referring to game salads forum page/site. Can we get a filter system for searching forum topics?

Didn't ask for a workaround. I'm asking is it possible? If so.... How hard would it be for GS staff to implement a filter system for their built in search feature? A lot of good info in there. A lot is repeated. A lot is asked 1000 times. A lot is obsolete. Filters would assist a user to find more up to date answers faster.

Now I sound hostile. But I'm not. I'm pretty sure the premise of my original post was clear.

It is not possible. And they're unlikely to invest the time into making it possible when you can do exactly what you want with Google.

Although search results can be "filtered" with google, it is not unreasonable to ask for the web team to add one to this site. Any minor improvements help Gamesalad as a whole. Not having to depend on a third party or a workaround is always a plus.
