I dont understand why " Review for Coins" is seen as a bad thing. You arent giving them coins to give you 5 Stars. You are simply giving them coins for taking the time to give your honest opinion on your game. It doesnt give one player a advantage over other players.

You are manipulating your app store ranking based on in game currency. If your game is utter crap but you entice people to rate based on incentive your app will climb on the charts. Even if you have a good rating on the app store your app will still be utter crap. Then the app store will be cluttered with crap people will switch over to android. Apple will lose money.

Im not giving them coins to give me a 5 star rating. Im asking them to take the time to give my game a rating based on their opinion of the game. If they go there and say its worthless. I havent helped myself in anyway. Tons of people play Angry Birds and probably not once gave a review. Yet angry birds made it to the top. You are only helping lazy people not to be lazy and use the review system the way it should be used.

If it is incentivized you are essentially paying for reviews which is against Apple's terms. It's implied that you want a positive review for the coins. I highly doubt you would want to pay someone to give you a bad review. Apple sees any incentivized rating system as unethical.

Wow then it should be unethical for people to be influenced to go to the voting booth and cast a ballet.

@FINNBOGG I actually never thought of it as something bad. In my opinion, it's a good thing! Like you said, just because you are offering them an incentive to rate your app doesn't mean they have to leave a good rating.

I'm not at all familiar with android but from what I understand Google Play will accept just about any app good or bad, with a fairly fast review process. While Apple goes through an intensive review process, weeding out the not so good apps...correct?

I was actually thinking about doing a "rate for reward" in my game. However, I don't want to put bad practice into my game, if it's looked down upon... :#

    Can someone shed some light?

@RabidParrot If it is in centivized you are essentially paying for reviews which is against Apple's terms.

That makes sense! I was not aware of this :)

If they find a incentivized rating system in your game it will be rejected.

@RabidParrot I appreciate your knowledge, thanks. I would have definitely been rejected, haha. I won't be doing a rate for reward, now that I know.

I mean if you want to compare apples and oranges. There was a time where people weren't allowed to go to the polls to try to alter one's political decisions.

Anyways, I see it as if the game is good enough it will organically receive reviews. If the app isn't as noteworthy it will remain at the bottom of the stack.

I do know some people on here that have incetiviced reviews in their published apps. I've played their games. They published well before Apple became strict.

Ive always found a simple pop up which sais, "Would you like to rate this app?" with a choice of "yes" , "no" , and "later" to work quite well.

If you want bad reviews from feminist.

    Edit: No

Edit 2.0 : I'm pretty sure someone on here was recently rejected for placing scantily dressed women in one of their apps.

Edit 1.1 : So, the answer is no.
