Heres my issue... I have quite a few project files that I can not open. They appear to have been projects that were created with the Release Candidate .

When I have the latest version open on my desktop and try to open the files I get this message....

When I do not have the most recent version open and try to open the file with the RC version that it was created on , the file starts to open and then stops. I get this message...

And it wont let me sign in. I want to get these files. Can someone let me know whats going on. Do I need to pay for pro subscription to get to these just to be able to save them out to the latest version? If I have to I will .

@floatingwoo Just change the extension to .gameproj and open it in the latest stable version.

@Lovejoy Thanks, Ok, so I hold down control click on the file to show contents....change the .gsproj to .gameproj and it wants to verify that Im changing it. Done. First time I just clicked on the file to see what would open it and the RC version tried but gave me the above message. Second time I tried dragging it to the newest version and it won't even recognize the file.

Edit_ How did these get changed in the first place?

Just right click the whole folder and rename it to .gameproj

Each different type of GS saves under different extension. Stable is .gameproj < RC is .gsrcproj and nightly is .gsdaily or something like that.

What happens is that sometimes when you have more than one type of GS like the RC, it is usually a later version of GS so the file opens in that version, changing it to a .gsrcproj extension.
