Im now 165 overall and still #5 in education. To get to #4 (which is currently kid Art for Ipad) I have to pass rank 146 overall because that is the ranking that Kid Art currently has...that might be a bit hard to do.
The surprising thing is that I did no advertising at all. I just woke up in the morning the day after release and it was already like rank 64 in education, then it just went up from there.
Im also ranked in 37 different countries, mostly all being in the top 100. My highest rank is in Costa rica- #1 in education and #35 overall, but that wont make me a lot of money probly a dollar or two lol
Thanks everyone! But I expect sales to go down by a lot after today. I am now ranked 15 in education It was a really fun experience to see it go up though. I think it was the icon, name, and screenshots that attracted everyone. It took me only about 2-3 days to put this app together, so I guess I don't really deserve to go any higher lol. But now I might buy an Ipad with the $$ I made
I asked appfigures the same question and they said that after you exceed the 150 mark it usually takes 3 weeks for the check to come, and then after that its monthly checks

I'm currently using a 15 inch MBP, but I am hoping for a 27 inch iMac by the end of the year as well; a desktop would make a lot more sense when it comes to doing any drawing, I think.
Do you plan to do your own art at some point? You designed a great icon, you seem pretty creative
@butterbean, an imac is definitely better for getting some work done, but I want to be able to carry my computer around because I travel around a lot. Also a 15" macbook pro has an i5 and if I were to get an imac I would get the $1699 27" which has a core 2 duo, so the macbook in this case would be faster.
@peachpellen, Im not really concerned about artwork right now. And I consider myself the total opposite of creative lol but thanks for the compliment anyways
@Arton: If you travel a lot then the Macbook would probably be the best option for you then, but if you're doing most of your work at home, I highly recommend the iMac. It's so nice to have the big screen so you can multi-task a little better, especially when making iPad games

@arton - Fair enough I am not great with graphics myself; as I mentioned in an old thread I've actually used that rooster in one of my games, lol. (I changed it a bit though - made it a white chicken.)
@butterbean - I assume you meant iPhone :P Yes. The lines will be bad but I'm willing to trample a few old ladies if need be. (I'd like to say I was joking, but I'm not totally sure I am .... )

I've been in a bit of a slump lately; soon though I'll be able to test and then publish, which will bring me back to a good level of motivation. (Also - like your new avatar )
You have blown way past all my GS apps sales put together, and I mean to say that in a congratulatory tone! In just 4 days! (mine have been around for months, eons in app years)
If you don't mind, would you allow me to feature you prominently in Singapore when I launch my company's national GS app-making contest in 4th Aug?

I also have a 17 inch Macbook Pro, and ever since I got the iMac, I hardly ever use my laptop
