Just drag any square image you want to replace from the Finder (Folder) to that image space.

The word "template" is used to mean a GameSalad project file that is developed so that it can easily be adapted to make a full game but in reality there is nothing different about a "template" project file. In other words, there isn't anything done to that project file to make it a "template." It's just that someone chose to call it that. I could just as easily create a blank new project file and say it's a "template." And yes, you should be able to drag an image (e.g. a jpg or png) right onto that thumbnail. This is true for any GameSalad project file, even the example project files that come with Creator.
